CLEANING PROCESS & REPAIRS

As motorcyclists ourselves we know how expensive protective kit can be and how attached we get to our favourite items. Our cleaning service maintains and enhances the quality of your kit. It helps to:

Let’s face it, how many other items of clothing are worn so close to the body, so many times, and
mostly in hot conditions without being cleaned? Let alone the amount of muck that is thrown up
off the roads at us! Just look at the side of your bike or car after a full weeks use.

LEATHERS

The whole leathers cleaning process is completed entirely by hand – no machines are used. The leather is cleaned using a soap we make ourselves using only natural ingredients. The soap is not available elsewhere and is used exclusively by us. No chemicals are used. The lining and interior armour are also cleaned using the same soap.

Once dry, the leather is treated with a high quality hide food. All this leaves the leather and stitching supple and the whole item clean and smelling fresh.

TEXTILE CLOTHING

The whole cleaning process is completed entirely by hand – no machines are used. Very mild
cleaning agents are used which are designed for modern hi-tech fabrics such as Cordura, Gore-Tex, Keprotec, etc.; which are used in motorcycling clothing. The cleaning process was developed by Scrubbers Leathers and is used exclusively by us. All interior linings and armour are also cleaned.

Once dry, each item is water-proofed using a three stage system developed by Scrubbers Leathers,
and used exclusively by us.

CLEANING TIME

Normally your kit will be with us for 10 to 14 days. With some items we may need extra time due to their condition, although this is unusual and incurs no extra cost.

REPAIRS

We carry out minor stitching and repairs in-house. If we can access it with our machinery, where possible we will help. Please note we are principally cleaners, not repairers. All the major repairs and alterations are carried out by The Leather Workshop or The Leatherman, whom we have worked closely with for many years.
